This Scottsdale home remodel was an interior & exterior whole house remodel of a 2000 square foot ranch home in the Peaceful Valley neighborhood near Old Town Scottsdale.
This design-build project included a full set of plans and drawings to clarify the many details and obtain a building permit. We provided clear drawings to show the proposed changes to the kitchen layout, the bathroom design, and open floor plan.
The homeowner wanted to open three rooms in the house to create a large, open living room and kitchen. Major structural modifications were necessary to accomplish Carol’s vision and expand the kitchen.
We removed the wall between the kitchen and living room, as well as the masonry dining room wall. Rather than installing the structural beams in the attic, we decided to make them a feature and use exposed glulam beams.
The kitchen had been remodeled in 2006 with dark tile floors, dark granite countertops, and builder grade white cabinets. Many people would think it was okay, but Carol needed a change.
Gray cabinets were chosen for the bottom cabinets and white for the upper cabinets. The countertops are white Carrara quartz. The finishing touches include crown molding, pendant lights, and stainless steel cabinet hardware.
The addition of wood structural accents and matching tongue & groove wood on the front of the kitchen island add to the bold, farmhouse modern style of this kitchen.
We extended the cabinets and countertops between the stove and the refrigerator, adding more storage and cooking space. The refrigerator received finished side panels and a cabinet above. The biggest improvement was the addition of a 6′ kitchen island with pull-out drawer storage.
Four tall pantry cabinets with a quartz countertop in the middle provide ample storage for this spacious, bright, open kitchen.
White tile showers with penny tile floors and wall niches brighten the bathroom spaces and give them a modern, luxury style and feel.
The original pedestal sinks were replaced with gray shaker style vanities, quartz countertops, and undermount sinks.
The dark tile floor was replaced with light gray 12″ x 24″ tile. All bathrooms got new accessories and towel bars.
In the master suite, the master shower has a bench and custom frameless shower glass. The double vanity is over 8′ wide with plenty of storage drawers.
Carol and Jimmy were great clients. Their Scottsdale home remodeling project was a huge undertaking while they were living in the home. We were able to work with them to juggle their lives a little to deliver the home they wanted.
We’re really happy with the way this whole house remodel turned out, but more importantly, we’re happy that the homeowners are enjoying their home and were satisfied with our work and our service. It’s what we strive for on every project.
In addition to the farmhouse style kitchen remodel and three bathroom remodels in this South Scottsdale home, we updated and replaced many other finishes.
